A bug within iTunes may be affecting its ability to connect to the iTunes Store. Close down and restart the application, or if this doesn't work, uninstall the application completely. Open the Apple website to download and install the most recent version of the software. Another possibility is that one of the security applications on your system is mistakenly identifying iTunes, or the iTunes Store, as a threat and blocking access to it. Check within your anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall programs to ensure that iTunes is listed as a trusted program and that it is allowed to operate without interference. Ensure your security applications are all updated to the latest available versions.
